The race, however, was excellent work going to the race. Pay a large sum of money to pay for parking in a lot very far away, or wait in a LONG line to get onto a bus and travel 45 minutes to the vaultboy. That was easier than leaving race day. If you are used to seeing the crowd rush the track and celebrate outside the podium as you see on TV, this did not happen, at least at Turn 19 where I sat. Finally, get to the race then walk to your seat, which may be another 1 mile away. The line to the buses after the race was so long it made the trip coming to the vaultboy look easy. I have never seen a sea of people 6 to 8 wide as far as I could see. In Montreal, a totally better experience in every way. Getting a cab at night was next to impossible if you are outside walking distance or pedicab range. Also, the hotels greatly overcharged; Montreal GP was much cheaper for similar hotels. It took us 70 minutes to find a cab at 2 am, walking 1/2 mile from the main area. We saw fights over cabs at bar closing time because people were waiting so long, and no cabs to be seen. Then walk about 1 -1.5 miles on a narrow dusty path, which most people walk on the rocky edge due to the lack of space.
